Gone Gone Gone Book Review

First off I want you to know that I got to read Gone, Gone, Gone back in June of 2011. I was so excited when Hannah posted that she was going to be sending her personal ARC out on a book tour so her fans and reviewers could read it early. I find it rather awesome to be able to read a book before it hits shelves, especially if it's one that I'm really looking forward too.

Now about Gone, Gone, Gone well it is rather hard to talk about it when I want to tell you everything that happens. It's so wonderfully written and really pulls you into the characters minds. Not to mention it is outstandingly funny and makes you laugh so hard you about pee yourself.

It takes place a year after September 11th just outside Washington, D.C. Craig (main character numero uno) has just started his sophomore year and he's only focused on being friends with one person, Lio. (second main character). They have to deal with not only their relationship but also the events that are taking place in their community and learning that everything that happens isn't just about the numbers.

My favorite character which I think everyone will agree on is Lio. I could picture him in my mind before he was even described. He's just the kind of kid that I would love to be friends with and have the best time making jokes around. He is just the guy that you root for no matter what.

I hope that you enjoy this as much as I have and that it finds a place in you heart just like it has mine. I know that from the time I am writing this until it's release I will be counting down the days till I get my hands on it again.

Love and peace

Red Glove

If you havent already realized what type of books I like most then you probably just dont read my posts but just by looking at the titles you can tell that they arent mundane in the slightest. This would obviously be the case with Red Glove, which is the second book in The Curse Workers series. Now before you dive into this epic murder mystery/alternate universe/magical world of awesome you have to read White Cat.

You can find my review of that here http://sassysshelf.wordpress.com/2010/08/17/white-cat/

Holly Black is such an amazing writer and I truly admire all the thought and planning that goes in to these books. Red Glove definitely keeps you guessing and I should have reread white cat before I started reading this because there are so many things that I had forgot but found quite interesting once they were brought back up. It just keeps you rooting for Cassel which, coming from me may mean something because I have a hard time rooting for the main character constantly throughout a whole series.

All in all I have to give Red Glove ***** 5 stars!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Goodness dont come for free.

The Scorpio Races Coming Soon!

Hey guys I haven't posted anything on soon to be released books in a while but alas I have a grand one for you! If you don't already know Maggie Stiefvater is one of my all time favorite authors and she has a brand new book coming out in October! Now since I'm not the best at explaining what a book is about here is the description straight from Goodreads.

"It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live. Others die.
At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.
Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen."
I hope that makes you excited about the book to. I know it will be good.
I couldn't forget to show you the trailer now could I? It is, as are all Mrs. Stiefvater's trailers, spectacular! Enjoy!

Invincible Summer

If you haven't heard me already then you don't know that I just read Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz. This is not a love story.

This wasn't my first Moskowitz book and no my first wasn't Break, it was Gone, Gone, Gone. Haven't heard of it? Well I don't think most people have but it's set to release next spring and I was fortunate enough to be in Hannah's #GoneGoneGone arc tour. Which is just something she wanted to do to get her book out there.

Invincible summer is so hard to describe because I don't usually read books like it and if you know of a book that's as epic as this that's about a family then please direct me to it because I have found a new love for stories like this.
I strongly suggest that you pick up Invincible Summer if you want a great story that should already be a classic.

When I was reading this it helped me discover that I'm like Chase and I'm not where I'm suppose to be. I know where I'm suppose to be and it's not here. (This is speaking in terms of where I am in my life right now. I'm going to where I'm suppose to be soon. And I can't wait.) I can't thank Hannah enough for this book, she's become an inspiration to me just at the right time along with a few others. I love you Hannah

I love you

First Book of Book Club!

Hello everyone,

I hope that you all are getting excited to start reading, I at least hope so. I know that I have said that I meant change out first book because Invincible Summer just came out like 2 weeks ago and so I am doing just that. Instead of reading IS we are going to be reading Water For Elephants.

I just think that for now this will be easier for everyone to find considering you all seem to live in small cities.

We are going to be starting on Sunday the 15th and I will remind everyone again. And after WFE our next book will be Invincible Summer.

Also if you have finals coming up I want you to know that I think those are more important than reading a book with me so please put your studies before our book for the week(s) that you're testing and good luck!  Don't fail anything!

One more thing! Isabelle (You know @IsabelleRunes) She's letting me make a forum on http://theshadowhunters.spruz.com/ and we will probably be using the sites chat to chat about the book. If I can remember I will try and be in the chat on most weeknights after 10pm est. Please go sign up on our site if you aren't already and if you are able to.

Book Club

Are you reading this because you told me you want to be in my book club or are you looking at this post to find out what it's about? Either way I'm happy that you want to partake in this group and so everybody knows I wanted to make a few things clear.

1) Each book will get 2 weeks to read, I think this is enough time for everyone to get through a book but if life is just being hard on you at the time I don't want anyone to think that they have to get the book read. I also know that some of you will have the book finished by the end of week one or even the first day which is fine with me.

2) I will post a blog at the end of week one just to tell you where I'm at and to see where everyone else is at and then at the end of the second week we will have an open discussion.

3) You don't have to read every book that is picked, I know some people just can't read certian things because it isn't their style, I know I have a hard time with this but I've gotten better at it.

4) I'm doing this just for fun so please do not get mad at me, I don't know why you would but it could happen, I just like having people to talk with and I want everyone to have fun reading too.

Now that I've got that out of the way I want to ask you all a few things:

1) What time zone are you in? I know most of your time zones but I want to make sure so I can schedule our discussions at the best time for everyone.

2) I want suggestions from everyone on what books you'd like to read. I have a list of books that I want to read but I don't want you to have to read only the things I post so please give me suggestions on books to put on our to-read shelf!

If you could answer these questions in the comments or @ me by wednesday May 4th that would be awesome!

Our first book is going to be Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz!
